I have been unable to locate a copy of the famous book.I teach at a college so the librarians were willing to try an interlibrary loan for me but none of the libraries with copies would loan theirs. It seems there are only 28 libraries with copies.I believe the closest to Washington State is in Denver Colorado.I have contacted the publisher, sent a letter to Ms. Scogland, and have my son who works for Amazon on the prowl for a copy.So yes I would love to get my hands on some of the pages.Any info on where John Hubbard came from?Henry was single in 1900 according to the Texas census so the Godwin marriage must have been before that or there is a mixup with a sister's marriage. (See info below from Jesse's obit.)Does John Hubbard or Hebert or whoever show up in the next census?
I have info for anyone on Jesse's family since he was skipped in the book. Jesse Washington Garlington b. 21 Jun 1869 Louisianna m. 6 Sep 1891 d. 25 Dec 1948 Phoenix, Arizona wife - Etta May White b. 22 Nov 1874 Sunset Texas d. 11 Aug 1963 Phoenix, Arizona - Elmer Franklin Garlington - Essie Matilda Garlington - Ethel B. Garlington Jesse's obit stated that he was survived by his daughter Essie, two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Godwin of Witesboro Texas and Mrs. Allie Ferguson of Dumas Texas and a half brother named Will Stanford also of Texas. This might mean that "Mary Smith" remarried and had additional children with someone namedStanford.
