Garrahan's in Argentine 2001

I am from the Garrahan branch that settled in Framingham Massachusetts, and at this point has been here for 7 generations. My first cousin is Terry Garrahan who has also posted here. Until our generation all of our families lived in Framingham for most of their lives. My brother Bill Garrahan, Terry, a second cousin Joe Garrahan, and I are each raising families in Framingham, but most of our siblings and cousins have migrated to other areas in Massachusetts and the US, and one is in London at present. Bill also has one granddaughter, and she lives in Framingham. Bill and I are two of 8 siblings. Terry is one of 6. Of my siblings, Tom Garrahan and Peggy Garrahan Kavanaugh live on Cape Cod, Sally(Sarah) Garrahan Chance is in Louisiana, Helen Garrahan Wright is in Maine, Mary Beth Garrahan is in Framingham, and John P.(Jack) Jr. is in London. My parents have over 20 grandchildren between the eight of us, and one great-grandchild. My parents are John P. Garrahan married to Ann (Erisman) Garrahan of Framingham. My dad is an attorney, and my mother was a school teacher before having children. Terry's dad was Christopher T. Garrahan, Jr., a decorated WWII veteran and beloved history teacher and tennis coach in the Framingham schools who died recently. Uncle Chris and his wife Pat (a school psychologist) had 6 children, most still in Massachusetts, and two out of the area:(Kevin) in Virginia, and Patrick in one of the Carolinas. My dad and late uncle Chris also have a sister, Mary Garrahan Clasby, now of Worcester, MA, who raised her family of 5 kids in Framingham with her husband Ed. Four of their kids are in Massachusetts, and one (Shaun Clasby) is in Minnesota. Going one generation back, my grandparents were Christopher T. Garrahan and Sarah (Sadie Regan of Whitman, MA) Garrahan, and they started an insurance company (Garrahan Insurance) that was later run by Mary and Ed Clasby, and now by Mary and Ed's daughter Beth Clasby Eyster and her husband, Lou. Christopher T. Garrahan was the son of John F. and Katherine (Sullivan of Palmer, MA)Garrahan. John F. was the son of another Christopher and Catherine (Ford) Garrahan who came to Framingham from Ireland, apparantly as teenagers. Catherine was the daughter of Catherine Lee and Thomas Ford, and they arrived in the US in about 1840. Christopher Garrahan was the son of Katherine Lawlor and Timothy Garrahan. Timothy was born in King's County Ireland in 1828. Records also show his name spelled as Garihan. That's the Framingham branch in a nutshell!
