Doug, I believe that Edward ran a sawmill, if I am not mistaken. I know that my John was listed on the 1870 as "lumberman."It has long been a running joke, since we are in the building supply business. You can check the Summerville City Directory. I believe that is where I have found my White family listed in the past. I can check our local Special Collections...of course, it is Floyd County, but there are some Chattooga resources.
Janie Garrett Trammell is buried at Lawrence-Demaris. There are many, many Garrett kin buried at Providence Cemetery in Forney/Cave Springs. There is also a Garrett cemetery in Centre, Cherokee County...but, they are from a different line of Garrett's. Too many Garrett's to keep track of.(There is also another Garrett Cemetery in Chattooga Co.) Also, William H. Garrett and his wife, Mittie Jane, and their family is buried at Pisgah Baptist in Floyd. It is the oldest church in the county. I believe William would be Edward's father, as they lived together for some time.
