Samuel Garrigues and his unamed wife are included as heirs in the will of John Jones (cordwainer) dated December 26, 1760 (proved July 13, 1761). In this will Samuel is said to have been a "peruke maker." A peruke maker was a wig maker. The only Samuel I have found in records of this period that would have been old enough to be married would have been Samuel Garrigues, Sr. son of Matthieu the immigrant). Samuel Sr. would later become quite a sucessful businessman in Philadelphia.
Also mentioned in this will is the beloved school master Anthony Benezet.
I'd never before heard or read that Samuel Garrigues had once been a wig maker.
