I'm still trying to establish the history of this couple and any descendants, but I now have further details. Their full names are now as above, according to their one appearance in a Bristol census, in 1901. Charles Gleadon Gascoigne is given as being 42; giving a birthdate between April 1858 and March 1859;and born in Kingston Upon Hull; Wilhelmina as 37, so born between April 1868 and March 1869, in Scotland. Charles is first recorded as having moved down to Bristol in December 1892 to manage a Music Hall called The Peoples Palace for the Livermore Brothers, having worked for them in another hall, either in Newcastle, Sunderland or Dundee. As well as managing the Hall, Charles had an interest in a confectioners, and a hairdressers, and when he left The Palace in October 1903, opened an off-licence called Best Brand in Bristol, where he is recorded until 1906; at which point either he and Wilhelmina either leave Bristol, or have died. No children are reported in the census return, but they are of an age where children could have been away at school, university, or possibly already left home. Do any of these details ring any bells - Charles' 'Gleadon' middle name may be a family name, a mothers maiden name? and Wilhelmina is an uncommon name - do either appear in your family trees??? Any information would be most gratefully accepted.
