Answered this and guess it got lost in outer space... John and Hope were both born in New Jersey...she was 10 yrs. younger....his obit. said he was 78 yr. when he died Jan. 1, 1868......in census he couldn't decided how old he was....in 1840 there was an odd male there between ages of 15 to 20....no idea who he was...he's not in the will of John Gaskill, just James and Almira or Elmira....written both ways...Almira was born in Ohio in 1830...and James born in Greene co., Pa. in Sept. 11, 1833....but they also claim to have arrived in Illinois in 1833...so he had to be a baby when they moved to Illinois..think they were Quakers who convertede to Baptists....Almira said she was converted when she was 15 in Macoupin co., Ill. at a Camp Meeting in 1845.....Ma coupin butts right up next to Greene Co., Illinois..
Don't have a tree on ancestry.com...but appreciate any help you can give....never could find a marriage license for John & Hope.....thanks
