I have a Richard Tyler who married a Catharine Gatewood, but the dates are slightly earlier. There was a Richard Tyler who died in 1802 in Caroline, leaving property to John Tyler, son of William Tyler, and leaving a wife Catharine Tyler. I am reluctant to post the entire abstract because what I have is from a copywritten book. [Hopkins, William Lindsay. Caroline County, Virginia, Court Records 1742–1833 and Marriages 1787–1810. Richmond, Virginia: William Lindsay Hopkins, 1990, page 146.]
And, from the loose papers of Essex County, Virginia: An undated petition by orator John Richards states that Richard Gatewood died about 1760 leaving Robert Cole and Frances his wife, William Gatewood, Richard Tyler and Catharine his wife, Henry Allen & Frances his wife, Philemon Gatewood, Annie Gatewood & Elizabeth Gatewood by William Gatewood their next friend. [Essex County, Virginia, Box 201, Folder G.]
According to Carol Gothberg's book on the Gatewoods (Gothberg, Carol J., John and Amy Gatewood, and Their Descendants 1666–1986. Baltimore: Gateway Press Inc., 1987), Catharine died in 1816, but I don't know what Gothberg's source was.
The parents of this Catharine were Richard Gatewood and Frances "Frankey" Tyler of Essex. Richard died in 1760; Frankey died in 1800. You can see more on this family via the URL below.
