I have just posted a new web site dedicated to the research of the family of my 6th-great-grandparents Charles Gaudet and Marie Cormier, who were married about 1738 in Beaubassin, Acadia. They fled the expulsion in 1755, travelling first to Quebec City, where Marie died in 1757 (smallpox). Charles and his children moved to Becancour, Nicolet County by 1762. He died there, probably in 1794. His children settled Nicolet County and Richelieu County, leaving a large number of descendants in those areas. A number of later generations immigrated to the United States (many of those changing the name to Gaudette). I would like to corresponding with anyone researching this branch of the Gaudet(te) family, especially those who are descendants of Charles and Marie.
