Hi Emma. I had a long weekend up at my mothers and came back with a mountain of Gazey information. Since January 1991, she and about 9 other contributors have been compiling a little booklet called the 'Gazey Gazette' which pools all of their Gazey sources and references eg birth marriage and death records, wills, census and hearth returns, rolls of honour and anything else they came across. My mother (Gillian Palmer previously Gazey) has given me vols 1-7 and is about to photocopy vol 8. She has also traced my family line back to William Gazey of Chipping Campden possibly baptised in 1665, and has also prepared a booklet on his descendents. My mothers information tends to stop at the beginning of the 1900's to protect privacy. I don't yet ahve a copy of any of the family trees that she has done, but I hope to in the next month or so. Do you or anyone else in this forum use a good geneology program so that we could all collate our information on so that we could easily share it? Emma, back in vol 2 of my mothers 'Gazettes', I have some records for Brailes... She has a record of John Wheeler Gazey marrying Elizabeth Hemming in Brailes on 8/11/1815.
There is a baptism record of an Eliza daughter of John being baptised at Brailes on 29/1/1863. (could she be the daughter of your John born in 1824?)
