Death of Mrs. Martha Waite
Mrs. Martha Waite died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Geiser, Greeley,Friday morning.Death resulted from ulcer of the stomach.
Martha Puntenney was born in Adams county, O., in 1831.She married John Waite at Rome, same county, in 1852. The couple lived successively in Illinois, Kansas and Colorado, coming to the latter state in 1892.Mr. Waite was a Union soldier during the Civil war and for many years prior to his death in 1887, was almost helpless.
Mrs. Waite was a devout member of the United Presbyterian church, possessed a most happy temperament, was given to kindly words and deeds and hence was beloved by all who knew of her.
There are left to mourn her loss five sons and two daughters.Then funeral took place Saturday morning from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geiser, Rev. John M. Ross of the United Presbyterian church conducting the services, and the body was laid to rest in Linn Grove cemetery.
