Sylvia, sorry for the slight delay. I have only recently received my father's papers; on first sight the earliest Genders he traced in Fillongley was Henry, d.1819, married to Elizabeth, d.1800. His notes read "He could be Henry bapt Hammerwich 19.3.1752 ?brother of Joseph and Robert from Colton. He could have married Elizabeth Rogers 16.1.1783 who was a widow. First child 1784." This has to be considered as an educated guess that needs further work to verify. There is a lot more on other branches originally collected by a correspondent of my father's, but I haven't yet had the time to collate it all. You may well already know about this marriage, but I would be glad if you would reply anyway! Janette.
