A correction to my last note:Benjamin Genobly was listed in the 1790 SOUTH CAROLINA census.John probably in the 1820 and definitely in the 1840 Georga census. There is a Benjamin Genobley in the 1840 GA census for Effingham (from 1845 list) who is the son of John.If naming patterns follow, John is the son of Benjamin.
Also, I think John was probably born about 1803...so this could be the John in the SC census of 1860.John Genobley does not appear in the 1850 census index of Georgia.
Mary Ann's marriage certificate lists her as a spinster...no parents mentioned. She was married in 1847, two years after John was enumerated in the census of 1845.So he either moved by 1847 or died...I'm thinking he moved.Susan
