Could this be the Reverend William GEORGE of the parish of Cherington in Gloucestershire England? This man was lord of the manor of Cherington Park, but was also Rector of Cherington in the mid to late 1800s.
He was suspended from his duties from 1850 until 1855, "for immorality"... 1841 and 1851 census show many young servant girls in the manor... hmmm....
I have been researching this family for many years. His eldest son was John Leversage GEORGE who bought the Trouble Hosue Inn from my HAREWELL ancestors in 1844.
Would love to know more info about who is recorded in this Bible!
