Patty, I'm in a state of shock. I have been trying to identify my Austin George for years! First, I have a letter from Lydia and Norman from Middlebury, VT to her parents, Austin George in Westport, NY. She mentions Marilda. I also have another unsigned letter to Austin to the same place. These are from the early 1830s. I have the marriage record of Mary Ann and Abraham VanSiclen at the Bushwick Reformed Church, Brooklyn in 1840 which identifies her as the daughter of the late Austin George. In the 1850 census they are living in Brooklyn with their children and Marilda George age 22. Mary Ann was born in Canada, probably 1816-1818 and Marilda in New York. In the 1840 census there is also an older woman in the house, but only the head of household are named. Lydia, Mary Ann and Marilda are sisters. This is Wonderful! Elaine
