The elder Caroline George is the widow of Felix Archilles George; her maiden name was Chaudron, daughter of Jean Simon & Geneive Stollenwerck Chaudron who were French exiles from Santo Domingo (Haiti)following the slave rebellion. Felix's parents were also French from SD. The younger Caroline George is her daughter Caroline. They ran a girls' boarding school in Mobile until the 1860's along with another daughter Mary. Caroline & Felix had 6 daughters: Caroline Jr never married, Victorie died young, Sylvanie (Belle) m Edgar Steele & went to New Orleans, Adele m Michael Bright Jr & went to NO, Ellen m John Henry Bright & went to Galveston & then Dallas, Mary m Thomas Steele (Edgar's brother) & went to NO.
