John George who died bef Sept 1791 is my ancestor.I know that he lived in the Pacolet area of what was Union Co. SC.

Sum of 10 shillings Plantation or tract of land containing 80 acres of land more or less lying on North side of Packolate River as it meanders to the beginning. Part of 200 acre patent for John Portman signed John Mcwhorter witness Adam Potter Nicholas Jasper John (P) Portman dated 20 Feb. 1778.

"Will of John George of Union Co. to my son John, the plantation wheron he now lives and the land adjacent to it which I now possess and one horse colt, ten months old; to my daughter Mary, 200 acres on north side of Packolet, which she now posseses and one sorrel colt, six head of cattle and my loom I give equally between my son John and Mary; to my son Thomas, the plantation whereon I now live, one bay horse; to my wife, my gray horse and four cows and four calves, one bed and furniture; to my wife and son Thomas all the rest of my goods and chattels... my brother in law John Jasper, my son John, exrs.......16 March 1791.John George (Seal), wit:John Jasper, John McWhorter, Charles Hames.Recorded 6 Sept. 1791.
I descend from John George through his daughter Mary who married John Pridmore of Union Co. I would love any information that you might have on John George's grave and/or the man himself.Is his grave still there?Looking forward to hearing from you. Susan Johanson
