I administer the George Surname project and wanted to stress that more participation is the the real key to success in DNA projects. We are starting to get a much better picture of the Nicholas George line and more participation in this area would certainly help. Most of our users have taken the 12 marker test. It is possible, and I stress possible, that a 25 or 37 marker test could help us determine where some branches split from each other. I alway urge our members to think about these larger tests on a case by case basis, but it's something to consider.
We really need proven descendents of Col John George to participate. I believe I may be a descendent, but my evidence is really circumstantial. I am simply not a good benchmark for this line.
