Thank you for your response.I am slowly attempting to find out if William George, father of David C.George,1798-1863 is the same William George who was an older brotrher of my ancestor,Solomon George,1757-1830.
I appreciate your offer of taking a DNa test but for DNA purposes of using the y-chromosome a male descendant of William with the George surname would be needed.
Are you familiar with the George lineage going back to the 1700's?I believe there has been an adoption--probably unrecorded--in the 1700's in Virginia as my y-chromosome DNA does not match the Y-DNA of a group of those claiming descent from the Nicholas George line of Lancaster County,Virginia ca.1700.This is the line from which I should descend based upon paper records.Another man,Charles George of Atlanta,Ga. and myself match 36/37 markers on the Y-DNA test and we are both descendants of Solomon George,1757-1830.
If I could find a male descendant with the George surname of William George through his son David George,1798-1863 I could find out through DNA whether there is a Y-DNA match.
I would be intetrested in discussing any possibilities or ideas with you.
