Saw this old post.My husband also descends from Rev. Jacob Gibson-in the 1990's my husband, myself, Russ Puricelli and his wife Marge (Gibson) Puricelli went to Fairfield Co., SC three times to do research on Rev. Jacob and his family-between Russ and I, but Russ most of the credit, a notebook was formed about Rev. Jacob and his family. My husband descends from Jacob III, married Catherine McGraw, d/o Nathan McGraw, s/o David McGraw Sr.The earliest record I have found of Jacob is in 1759 in SC with Solomon McGraw. When Rev. Jacob died, 1793, he left "lands of mine and my father's in Virginia" to whoever would take care of Jacob's son, Benjamin Gibson.I can document heirs of Jacob's but the lines of his children but James, Thomas and Benjamin.I have seen the will of the Jacob of Prince William Co., Va. and don't believe it is "our" Rev. Jacob Gibson. If you are still online, and researching, let me know.A very old book about early Baptist preachers gives a bit of history of Jacob and his wife, Judith Napper (Napier). She was born 1726, had died by 1783 when he wrote his will and named his second wife,Sarah, widow of Patrick Burns. His early "friends" were John Kennerly and his wife, Mary.
