Hello everyone,I have some Gilfillan records which may be of use to someone. These were researched by a professional genealogist. These records were presented to me in no particular order and consisted of raw data.I have attempted to organized these people into family groups.THEREFORE extreme caution should be taken with this data.If anything looks interesting to you, I will send the raw data as I received it and you can make your own judgment. Here goes. No Gilfillans appear in Lettergull pre 1810. First record is Alexander Gilfillan 1810. Alexander Gilfillan appears again 1829 with 3 sons, 1 daughter. 1837 John Gilfillan marries Maria Thompson. 1832 Alexander Gilfillan Jr., corn dealer, marries Isabella Milkey 1835, 1846 Alexander Gilfillan receives land lease of 43 acres. 1833 1st child Mary born to Alexander Gilfillan 1834 2nd child Jane born to Alexander Gilfillan (later married John Rogers 1858--I have 6 children born to this couple) 1838 3rd living child Margaret Born to Alexander Gilfillan (later married John Gilfillan of Brocknagh) 1861 Alexander Gilfillan (same as above? or son?) marries Jane Gordon. 1864 first child Alexander born to Alexander Gilfillan 1867 2nd child John James born to Alexander Gilfillan 1869 3rd child Isabella born to Alexander Gilfillan 1870 4th child Elizabeth born to Alexander Gilfillan. Possible Samuel born here. 1879 child James born to Alexander Gilfillan.
Additionally there is still another family group of an Alexander Gilfillan which I believe is a son not of Alexander the corn dealer, but of John Gilfillan who married Maria Thompson. John Gilfillan Alexander Susan married George Smith 1864, children: --Robert 1865 --Margaret 1867 --Susan 1870 --George 1872 --Mary Jane Sarah Jane married Samuel Buchanan 1873 Martha married Andrew McConnell 1876 child --John Thompson 1880
this is as much sense as I can make of this.please contact me for greater details if any thing looks interesting.good hunting,Dale
