I thought about that also. Unknown as to its validity, I've seen that Nancy was born ca 1758 in Rockingham Co Va,as was her spouse to be John Gilkerson. Present day Rockingham Co Va is a WV border county in the Shenandoah Mtns, which wouldn't be that close to Chester Co Pa, unless of course in the 1750's Rockingham co. had different boundaries. At Daniels AM Rev War pension hearing,he refers to his birth in Chester Co Pa 2/11/1759, and a record of age taken from his fathers Bible, whom he doesnt name. The only other family reference is to a brother William, whom Daniel served for as a reenlistment during the Am Rev War. I understand that the family may have spent time in Maryland after leaving Pa and before relocating to Va. Perhaps someday we will find that distant relative that will have all the answers. But for now its fun playing dectective. It appears there were a lot of Davis's in the Chester Co region during the 1700's. I wonder what made it so attractive, farming, people of similiar nationalities locating in close communities ? politics ? etc.
