Hi Dennis! This is so sad.I believe I may be a descendant of your Thomas Gleason, brother of Edward, but I am afraid I found this posting too late.
My Thomas Gleason immigrated to America (CT) between 1862 and 1865.We know this because there is a 3 year span between two children born in different countries. His wife's name was Elizabeth (Eliza). They had 8 children, the 6 oldest being girls and the 2 youngest being boys, also name Thomas and Edward, respectively. The oldest girls were Lizzie, Annie, Mary, Maggie, Sarah and Katie.
His family is found on the 1880 census for Manchester, CT (Hartford Co.) page 220A. Gleason, Thomas43b. IREwork in silk millparents b. IRE Eliza40b. IREkeeps houseparents b. IRE Lizzie20b.
