The Autumn/Winter 2008 issue of ANTIQUES AND FINE ART magazine on pp. 236-237 pictures in an article two fine portraits of the siblings Jerome Wilson Gleason and Lavilla E. Gleason of Westmoreland, NH, dated March 1842. The article gives the further information that Jerome and Lavilla were the children of Wilson and Lucy Atherton Gleason (his first wife) who were married 12 July 1812. Wilson Gleason was a wealthy farmer and cattle drover, and a captain of cavalry in the New Hampshire militia.
Captons to the two portraits state that Jerome was born 28 April 1816 and so was age 25 when his portrait was painted, and Lavilla was born 21 March 1818 and so was age 23 when her portrait was painted.
These portraits should be made known to the Gleason family. I am scanning them in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the family ought to have them--they are too good to be missed by the family for they certainly do have a whole lot of family and artistic value.

If they were portraits of Pease family members, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
