Melanie -- I, too, am rather "green".I'd love to know what all you have found out since posting this message.I told you on another inquiry a little news about Micah Ann Gleaves Tabler. Is YOUR Charles the son of Charles who was son of Annie Hawksk/Jesse H. Gleaves of Mt. Juliet?I have a letter written by "Charles" to my great Uncle Eldon who died only a few years ago (90+) in Florida.Eldon was the
"baby" of that family. He was raised by Minnie, the oldest daughter, when Annie died.I have a photograph of several members of that family:Guy Tovell "Toad" (my grandfather) and sisters Gladys, Minnie, Freda and brothers Charles, Jesse.I am happy to share anything I can with you.I have a scanner on my computer, but don't know how to e-mail photos or I'd send that one with this e-mail. The letter I have also mentions "Uncle Jim and Aunt Lou Gambill" who lived in Mt. Juliet or Lebanon, TN "across from the old depot" where old Confederate soldier vets would come and sit and wHittle and tell stories of the war. Please e-mail at [email protected].
Teddie (my real name)Since my great uncles called Micah Ann "Aunt Mike" and Freda "Fred"? , I guess it's not that unusualy having what most consider a "boy's name"!
