Thank you so much for posting this information! It adds history to names I just this afternoon wrote down after visiting the old cemetery in Mt Juliet, where I live.
While I am not related, I am much in to genealogy & had been wanting to visit this cemetery again (which is only a few blocks from my house) to transcribe tombstones. We discovered the cemetery was there a number of years ago & once briefly visited, but I didn't transcribe info from tombstones at that time.
Today, I also took photos of the cemetery & tombstones, which I will be happy to email to anyone interested (as soon as I download). I can also give directions to the cemetery upon request.
The surnames Baird, Gleaves & Barton seem to be the only names I could distinguish from the tombstones & monuments. There has been a considerable amount of damage to some of the monuments & stones. There appears to be several very old stone crypts, with large flat stones covering the ground, but no readable names or dates. They are no longer level with the ground, stone slab lids tilted & broken. I would venture to guess that one of those belongs to Julia. Several monument spires, etc have been displaced from their bases & are lying on the ground. There are a number of old fieldstone markers as well. The cemetery now sits on a hill in the middle of a subdivision & although it is fenced off, I'd bet much of the damage was done during construction, which is a crying shame! The size & ornate qualities of some of the monuments indicate they belonged to families who were wealthy.
The Baird family members I found were as follows:
William C Baird Son of James H and Julia A Baird Born Dec 14 1837 Died Dec 13 1862
Andrew Baird Born Feb (date of month unreadable) 1787 Died Oct 20 18?3 (3rd number in year unreadable)
Martha Baird (Forgot to get her dates, if they are actually readable, but took a photo, which may or may not reveal the dates when I download it)
The Gleaves family members found are as follows:
Guy Gleaves Born Feb 06 1814 Died Nov 11 1867
Jinney Gleaves (Some of her dates were too difficult to read) Born Jul ? 18?2 Died May 09 18?3
The Barton family are in their own old fenced area of the cemetery & have the largest monuments. They are as follows:
W P Barton Born May 12 1856 Died Aug 31 1930
Cela Barton Daughter of John N and Ella W Curd Born Jul 23 1871 Married to W P Barton Feb 19 1895 Died May 20 1897
Lou Ella Barton Born Dec 12 1895 Died Nov 19 1918
Note: Lou Ella is buried with W P & Cela, very likely their daughter & 1st born child.
