Jean Gleaves mentioned that I may have some information helpful to your needs. Here's what I have:
Mathew Gleaves and wife Esther had these children: Mary, William, Michael, Matthew, Esther & Elizabeth.
The son William and his wife Elizabeth Taylor Turk had these children: Thomas, Matthew, Mary, William Jr., Elizabeth, Absalom, Margaret, Esther, James Turk, Sarah & Nancy.
The son Absolom & his wife Catherine Halsey had these children: Guy Trigg, Sally W., Elizabeth T. (or Teresa E.), & James T.
The son Guy Trigg & his 2nd wife Julia Ann Jennings had these children: John W., Benjamin T., Jesse Harrison, Tavel, Micah Anne (or Michey A.), & Edwin T.
The son Jesse Harrison Gleaves was born 6 May 1859 in Wilson County, TN. He is buried in Chattanooga, TN.On 28 Nov 1880, he married Annie Hawks, daughter of Preston & Cassandra Hawks (don't know her maiden name). I don't know her birth date, but She was buried 27 Sept. 1907 in the Cedar Grove Cem. in Lebanon, TN.They had these children: Minnie (married Jim Mercer in Royce City, TX), CHARLES G.(married Frankie Beard in Chattanooga, TN), Freda, Guy Tovell (who I am descended from), Jesse, Finley P.(married Nell Lyles in Chattanooga, TN), Gladys, & Eldon H.(married Blanche Rudder in Chattanooga, TN. I would bet that the CHARLES G. mentioned here is the Charles G. Sr. you refer to.Sr. would have been born about the right time to be your Charles G. Jr's father! (around 1900 or so). This would put your dad square in the time frame of being 75-77 now.I hope this helps you with a start.I will try to find any other information that may be of help, but this would be my first choice of where to begin to gather the info to prove this all up.Please write back & let me know what you think...
