Obit ADRIAN — Sister Mary Faith Glendening, formerly known as Fern Elizabeth Glendening, died on Jan. 20, 2008, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was 83 years of age and in the 66th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation. Sister was born in Lake Orion, Mich., to Joseph and Sybil (Zbanek) Glendening. She graduated from St. Theresa High School in Detroit, Mich., and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, and a Master of Arts Degree in English from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. Sister Mary Faith spent 29 years ministering in education in Bad Axe, Detroit and Adrian, Mich.; Jacksonville, Fla., and Rome, Ga. She taught for two years at Dominican High School in Detroit. Sister was a Pastoral Minister for 27 years at St. Joseph Parish in Adrian, Mich. In 2002 Sister became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. Sister is survived by a brother, Vernon Glendening of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., and a sister, Sister Mary Annette Glendening, also an Adrian Dominican Sister. Visitation is from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, in the Gathering Space of St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center, followed by Vigil Prayer at 7 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008. Burial will be in the Congregation cemetery.
