Other than the record of Mary Dodson and James Graham’s marriage in 1830, there are no Dodson records in the Bible. There were some letters tucked inside the Bible that mention Dodsons.I’ll list them here with apologies for posting this information on the Goad message board.
One letter mentions the death of Sarah Seals baby.Sarah Dodson married James Seals on 29 May 1847 in Van Buren County. They were listed on the 1850 census in White County, TN and on the 1860 census in Bledsoe County, TN.James Seals may have been the son of James Seals and Nancy Graham.
There was a letter from Valentine and Julia Dodson to James Graham.Valentine Dodson married Julia Ann Dale on 13 Feb 1840 in White County, TN.They were listed on the 1850 census in White County and in 1860 were living in Lodi, Gray Township, Pulaski County, Arkansas. No doubt Valentine was Mary Dodson’s brother.Another letter, written by Valentine's son, John W. Dodson, to his uncles, James Graham and Richmond Frasier, tells of Valentine's death on 26 Jul 1860.
Richmond Frasier and Susannah Dodson were married 23 Apr 1840 in White County, TN.They were living in White County in 1850 and apparently moved to Texas with James and Mary Graham. They were in Gainesville, Cooke County, TX in 1860 and in Meridian, Bosque County, TX in 1870.
One letter mentions forwarding a letter to Jesse Dodson, but doesn't say anything about him or where he lived.
