In a letter to the Muncy Historical Society, published in "Now and Then". Oct. 1964, Vol.XIV, No.9, Mrs. Edith Dunwoody (1095 Dudley, Lakewood, Colorado) wrote the following: "Mrs. Coquillard, of Denver (D.A.R.)is a descendant of Muncy's Henry Shoemaker. Her uncle William B. Gobin, a judge of Rocky Ford, Colo., has Henry Shoemaker's Bible that Henry purchased in 1764. The writing by Henry is in German. He lists his father as Jacob Jr. and mother Elizabeth Roberts and grandfather Jacob Sr. and his wife as Margaret. Henry is a grandson of the Jacob Sr. who came to Germantown in 1683. Henry's children, who they married, and birth, marriage, death dates are partially listed. His daughter Susanna who married Edward Gobin was given the Bible and the entries continue the Gobin family. I have the English translation of the written records sworn to by William B. Gobin which I can send you. . .it is bound in wood, covered in sheepskin . . "
