Could Halifax or Mecklenburg Counties have been in Md at any time around the Rev. War? I have been frustrated in my attempts to locate parentage info on a Joseph Gold, d.o.b. Circa 1818 in Md., said to have had parents also born in Md. I believe that Ephraim Gold, circa 1760 in Meck. Co. may have had a brother or son named Joseph. If this was a son, he could have been my Joseph's father. (My Joseph also had a son whom he named Joseph, so it would appear to have been a favored name for several generations.) Any clues as to the origins of my Josepg Gold, b. circa 1818 in MD woulf be greatly appreciated!
