I don't have any direct information for you; however, the following may give you a place to look.
"In Part IV of Velma June GOOD Hulvey's THE WILLIAM GOOD FAMILY, p.896, are given additional families and records of GOOD/GOODE families in Virgina, which do not fit into her massive compilation found in her ancestral sketches. Here is a summary of the data.
I.John GOODE, son of Richarfd Goda/GOODE of Cornwall England, came to the Richmond City, Chesterfield, and Henrico Counties area of Virigina about 1641.This family is listed in George Brown GOODE's VIRGINIA COUSINS (1887 and reprinted by Carrier in 1981).About 1800, a descendant, Joseph GOODE (*1775), came to theShenandoah Valley and settled a few miles west of Port Republic in Rockingham Co.His son, Samuel GOODE/GOOD, owned a grain mill now called GOOD's Mill. Here is a sketch Joseph's four sons:
1. Samuel GOOD (1813-1886) m. Lydia Kessling & Catherine Flory
2. Joseph GOOD (*1817) m. Leannah [nee?] & Mary Ann Propst
3. Thomas GOOD (1819-1908) m. Lucy Fisher
4. William GOOD (*1822) [wife unknown]
Many descendants sill live in this area, and this family's recent researcher has been Louis Grover GOOD of Charlotte, NC"
Yesterday I searched through the 'Virgin Cousins' reprinted in 1994, and the newer book, 'Early Goodies of Virginia and their Descendants, Volume 2, John Goode of Whitby, by Nancy Goode Page and Donald W. Page, but I didn't find a reference to Joseph.Virginia Cousins is a difficult book to search, but you might wish to run down 'The William Good Family, Part iv" by Velma June Good, or possibly find Louis Grover Good, or his research.
