Greetings!I hope you're still reading this message board!
I've long been trying to solve a mystery involving JAMES AND ELIZABETH SNIDER GOODWINE of Jackson County, Indiana and my gggg-gf, THOMAS TUCKER of Spencer County, KY.
In August 1818, James and Elizabeth gave (sold for $1) 100 acres of property along Little Plum Creek in Spencer County KY, to my Thomas Tucker.I can't figure out why that would have happened unless there was some kind of family connection.I do know from the deposition on the deed that the land belonged to Elizabeth Snider Goodwine.
I believe Thomas Tucker was married twice, first (allegedly) to a Mary Catherine Smallwood who may have died en route to KY, and second to Elizabeth (last name unknown) who was born ca 1782 and died in 1864.Thomas was born ca 1776 in Maryland and died in Spencer County KY in 1848.
Do you know of any connection between the Tuckers and Sniders?Any ideas appreciated.
