Karen I just found a paper I had in my file. I is History of Albemarel Co. on the Goolsby. It list Thomas Goolsby as one of the earlest settlers of the county. In 1732, Thirteen years before its organization, he patented twelve hundred acres on James River. In 1745 he sold more that five hundred acres to Samuel Shelton and in the discription mentioned two tributaries of the James, called the Holman and Goolsby's creekThomas died 1774. He twice married, first being Lucy Bryant, his children were.William, Thomas, Susan, the wife of a Childress,Ann the wife of Nowling, Lucy, the wife of a Saunders,& Elizabeth.He died in 1819 and his children were William, Tabitha,wife of Joseph Harlan.
