Thanks for getting back to me as it pertains to my ancestors. I wish so much that I could link them up to the old Alexander Gordon of Exeter, N.H. and I have been trying to do that for the longest time. So far, though,I have been unsuccessful, but it hasn't been for lack of trying. I've been at this for the past 15 years or so. My family tree was lost in a house fire in the early 1900's and everyone I've asked in the last 20-30 years has always said we're descended from the "Old Alexander of All," but no one in our family has been able to prove it.
I recently wrote a book as it pertains to my Gorden/Gordon line and now it looks as though I may be able, at long last, to go back a lot further in time than my ancestor, William Gordon, born circa 1767, in Warren, Maine. It is ironic that you contacted me when you did because I just made a small connection to Readfield myself just this past week. I need a lot more information about the Gordens in Readfield, and that entire area, to help me, though.
If you have any you'd be willing to share with me, I would greatly appreciate it.
