Gordanier, Gordinier, Gardenier, Gardner, A Dutch Heritage by Audrey Condon Delaney references on page 157 a Margaret (Peggy) Mitts, bpt 14 Apr 1804 married a Henry Alkenbrack on 22 July 1824.Margarets parents were John Mitts and Jane Gordanier. On the same page is a brief story on how John Mitts and his brother Henry came to Canada.I am not sure if you have this story, let me know if you do not and I will send to you. I also have Jane Gordaniers ancestry back quite a few generations.
Now about William Gordanier, I cannot locate him, but their is a large number of Gordaniers in Canada in the area he settled all of which are ultimately descended from Jacob Janse Gardenier & Josyna who emigrated to the US in the early 1600's. It is quite likely William fits in somewhere. Note a number of other Mitts and Alkenbracks have also married into the Gordaniers, so the co-incidence is quite strong.
