By genealogy.com user May 01, 2001 at 09:06:00

I am searching for family members. My grandfather Patrick Gormley came to the US from northern Ireland County Omagh or perhaps Armagh.I think from the town of Strabane. His first wife was named Bessie? They had 9 children here in the US - Hugh, John, James... After Bessies death Patrick married my grandmother Elizabeth Walter (she was a bit younger than he was).Patrick and Elizabeth had 4 Children:Frank (was married to Adalaide and then to Mary)Betty, Terry and, my father, Walter who was born in 1930 when Patrick was 69 years old.Patrick was a carpenter by trade. There is a family tale of a built in ironing board. They lived in Brooklyn NY eventually moving to Lincoln Place near Prospect Park. Patrick died on 2/14/1943 at the age of 83,and is buried in Calvary cemetary in NY.I would be interested in hearing from Gormleys that may be related.I have Patrick's naturalization papers he became a US citizen in 1893 in Brooklyn.Cousins Frank or Walter if you see this please write!
