Apart from that, I see you say are a Catholic, so the note below may be of interest to you.I came across this quite by accident whilst looking for something else and included it in my Gornall Census Record in case it was ever needed. The appointment is listed in The Times. I searched for 'Gornall' on the Times search engine and that was one of the 'hits'.
1851 Census Co. Durham.Ushaw College, Lanchester. John Gornall aged 22 Unmarried Student.Born Kirkham, Lancs. College Records show John as having been at the College from 1845, aged 15, to 1867 when he was ordained. Academic Ability is recorded as Very Much Above Average. Faded Records show him as having been born in Broughton.Indistinct through age, there is also what looks like ‘T’ followed by (Preston). Ward’s Directory of 1894 records Reverend John Gornall, at COLLIERLY, (between Dipton & Annfield Plain, Co.Durham) His appointment was recorded in The Times.
