Gosdin family in Georgia and Alabama
The Gosdin family came to Georgia from probably Mecklinburg Co., N. C.They settled first in Oglethorpe County, Georgia where they stayed for a while. In the early 1800's when the Indian lands opened up further south, one Ezekiel W. Gosdin moved to Henry Co., Ga.Before moving there he married Nancy Ann Smith, daughter of John Bailey Smith and Elizabeth Ann "Betsey" Powell. They raised a family in Henry Co., Georgia and then their son, William Bailey, after marrying Nancy Bird Colvin in Henry Co., moved on to Fayette Co., Georgia.Either just before, or during the Civil War, he moved his family over to Randolph County, Alabama.I would like to correspond with anyone who has information on this family.
