I am also searching my Gosney family roots. I don't know if we tie in or not, but I have a Virginia Henry Gosney b. abt 1750 who married Anna Heynor. They had a son Gabriel Gosney b. about 1785, d. after 1870 who married Winifred Burford in Amherst Virginia on Dec 21, 1809.By 1840 Gabriel and Winifred had moved and appeared on the Census of St. Charles Co, MO, Cuivre TWP. I have no proof at all, but there is some belief that Gabriel had a brother William. A guess... perhaps this was because Henry named his son William for his father, William. My Gosneys supposedly came to the US from Port of Hamburg, Germany and were of Polish extraction. Question...what does the "Richd x fford" mean on the deed? Was it unreadable? Gosh, could it have been Burford (Burfford)? This would tie in if the Burfords and Gosneys were neighbors and together witnessed the Waller/Walker deed. Please reply, thanks.
