Hello again, Linda,
I think our grandparent's families kept in periodic contact.I know that my Dad and his siblings either knew, or knew of their 2nd cousins. And Grandma provided all the names of Gossage relatives - through my generation when I got the genalogical "bug" back in the 60's.I don't recall that my grandparents ever left the farm on any sort of journey . . . and it was also as unlikely that they did so while their kids were growing up, so I suppose contact was via letters.
Robert left Wisconsin for Northern Idaho in the early 1900s.My Grandfather stayed in Idaho, and their kids left, but all returned to the area when they retired. And most of the cousins are there, as well, or "next door" in Washington State.(I'm in New Mexico.Where are you?)
You can contact me directly at the e-address below if you like so we can get acquainted and share some stories and genealogy info.I'm sure that my two Aunts who are still living would love to be updated about their 2nd cousin's families!
Mary, your third cousin,
