I have a Margaret Goudy married to Daniel Weir. She was born about 1827 in Scotland, and married Daniel in 1848 in Ayr, Scotland. I doubt this is your Margaret Goudy Weir born in 1873. According to my family records (which are not confirmed), this couple had 10 or 11 children. The first 4 were born in Scotland, then the family emigrated to Nova Scotia, where in 1861 and 1863 they had two more daughters. The first daughter born in Nova Scotia is named Margaret Weir. It's possible her middle name was Goudy, I have no information regarding that. Then 4 or 5 more children were born in the United States, mostly in Ohio. The second daughter born in Nova Scotia is my great-grandmother Essie (short for Theresa). Essie married Ezekiel Morgan; her sister Margaret married Edward Morgan, brother of Ezekiel. There was also a brother William in the Morgan family. These combined families travelled together for a while, from coal mining town to coal mining town, including stays in Colorado (specifically Coal Creek where children were born, also found in Fremont County in census records).
I have no idea if this helps you or not. It sounds like we almost have a fit. I do not have confirmation on much of this, only on my own direct ancestors. How sure are you sure about your grandmother's birth date and the name of her husband? Do you have any info about their children, or siblings, or where they lived during their lives?
