Union-News (Springfield, MA) - December 30, 1998 Deceased Name: J. Richard Goy HOLYOKE J. Richard Goy, 83, formerly of Mountain Road, West Holyoke, died Dec. 14 at a Holyoke nursing home. He retired in 1979 from Valley Machine and Knife, where he was a grinder for 20 years. Born here, he attended Holyoke Vocational High School. He was a member of the Holyoke Revolver Club and won many competition trophies. A Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Jason, a repair ship, during World War II. His wife, the former Jean Williams, died in 1994. He leaves a daughter, Alice A. King of North Granby, Conn.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The memorial service was Tuesday at Edward F. Day Funeral Home, with burial in Forestdale Cemetery.
