Thank Yu for your informative reply. There seemed to be descrepancies in others reports on Edmund the Immigrant's dates of becoming a lieutenat, a Freeman, his birth date, etc. However, he was not listed as a Mayflower Passenger in Bradford's book, but in later records was noted as one of first 18 settkers if Newburyport,Mass. My husband was descended from another first settler there, Francis Plumer.
I resd a copy of Edmund's will, and he mentions Sarah More as his first wife, but no given name for his second, Mrs. Hill. Perhaps there were two Edmunds of same generation Poor souls traveling half a yearbetweent England and America many times. My older cousins visited my Mother's home outside Ft.Bliss, and they died in Japanee prison camps withn two years. My second cousin's husband died in ambush on beach in Phillipines. Not happy events to have in common. I am still puzzled by Sarah Dole and sarah More as Edmund's wives, just in case there was only one Edmunc.
L.D.
