David,
The message that you posted was like a breath of fresh air! I have been researching my family tree and have been stuck on the Greenleaf ancestors, especially the Edmunds.I thought that there was a Captain Edmund Greenleaf jr. who was married to Sarah Moore in England (arriving in MA in 1633 on board the John and Mary; however, I can't find their names on the manifest) Then, after Moore died he married Sarah Hall.I thought that Edmund Greenleaf Sr. was Edmund's father; however, according to your post, they were actually brothers (Sons of John and Margaret Greenleaf (?) of whom John's father was Stephen (?))?I am also confused about a few more names that I was hoping you might be able to clarify?
1.I was under the impression Edmund Greenleaf Sr. (now who I believe to be the older brother born: 2 Jan 1574(?)) was married to Elizabeth Leeds (Born: 1566 Died: 1634).Where, if at all, does she fit in the family tree?
2.I found another Sarah, Sarah Jurdaine (Born: 1610 Brixham, Devon, England Married: 1636 same location Died: 1671 Daughter of Ignatius Jurdaine). In my research she appears to have been married to the younger Edmund (Born: aprox. 1590).Is she an ancestor or just another Sarah who married a different Edmund?
3.Finally is the Stephen Greenleaf, of whom you are speaking in your previous message, the Stephen born approximately 1510?
I would be SO grateful if you could help me with this!My family has researched much of my family tree but the Greenleaf branch is missing and according to your post they were a fascinating/revolutionary family! I would LOVE to know more!
Thank you very much for your time reading this message,
Lindsey
