Upon further investigation, I found that the S.W. Groce in Monroe was really S.W. Grace and that the David was Cross. I also found in Wills & Deeds, Book 1, that Jared E. Groce sold land to William Waller in Monroe County Dec 22, 1821. August 22, 1838, heirs of Jared E. Groce - Leonard W. Groce and Jared E. Groce Jr, of Austin, and Wm H. Wharton of Brazoria Co., TX gave power of attorney to William Waller of Monroe Co, AL to dispose of land owned by Jared E. Groce, dec'd, late of Washington Co., TX. Anyone want a copy?
