Reinhart,
I've dug out my grandfather's autobiography, which has a little detail, as follows:
Emily Watson was the daughter of a university coach who had been educated at Jesus College, Cambridge. Whilst her father'sinitials are not known, he apparently had a brother, the Rev Charles Watson who was a master at Clifton College.
According to the 1851 census, she was born Herts, Buntingford, c1824.
None of the other names in the Elizabeth Grocock will mean anything to me. However, it seems to have been substantial. Now, William Henry Grocock came in to money when quite a young man - in my Grandfather's words: "He studied medicine but had the misfortune of being left legacies....." It is not at all clear where these legacies came from, possibly his father, who it seems was well-off and able to retire early, but there may also have been some input from the Watson side.
Regards
David Grierson
