From the Potter County Journal (PA) April 21, 1938. Funeral services for Gustave Gross aged 80 years, were held in the First Presbyterian Church, Thursday afternoon, with Rev. James Neill, pastor of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was made in West Hill cemetery. Gustave Gross was born at Salem, N.J. Arpil 1, 1858, and was a son of Casper and Katherine Gross, His boyhood was lived in Germania where his parents had located on a farm. Following his marriage to Miss Emma C. Schaar, he purchased a farm joining the farm of his parents and for thirty-eight years resided in the farm home.The moved to Galeton about sixteen years ago.Surviving are his wife and one daughter, Mrs. John Parker of this place: a nephew, Purnell Wolz who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Gross from the age of three years; three sisters, Mrs. H.H. Cleveland, Miss Margaret Gross of Binghamton, N.Y. and Mrs. Leonard Zundel of Warren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
