I recently purchased TWO GROTZ photos at an antique shop. What a find for a descendant of these two!
The first one is an original photograph of a distinguished looking gentleman named ALFRED FISK GROTZ. The condition is perfect and you can easily see his finely trimmed and curled moustache, his elaborate bow tie, his watch fob and the ribbon decoration beside his lapel.Everything in the photo bespeaks success.
The second photo is a studio card taken of an engaging baby girl who is dressed perhaps in a christening dress. She is laid out on a lambskin in an elaborate wicker chair. She is identified as ETHEL MAY GROTZ and the notation on the back says she was BORN ON DECEMBER 12 (?), 1896.The photo was taken at the Frey Studio in Scranton, PA.
I purchase old photographs and try to reunite them with their families. All a Grotz descendant needs to do is to tell me something about them, or about the Grotz family in a PA, reimburse me the purchase price ($4.50 total for the two) and cover the postage. The funds allow me to continue the process.
