According to the 1880 census three Gruenewald families resided in St. Charles, Missouri in the late 1800's.I found record of two of the families in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles.The third family was listed in the 1880 census but was not shown in the Immanual church records. I think all three families may be related.The men are close in age and from Illinois.
