Obit: Sarah Stalcup Guin
Spanish Fort - Sarah S. Guin, 90, Spanish Fort, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2007, in the Westminster Village Healthcare Center in Spanish Fort. Born on Oct. 19, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Alice Allen Stalcup. She attended the University of Alabama where she earned a bachelor of arts. degree in English. She was previously employed as a secretary at Samford University. She also was a second-grade elementary school teacher. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Dec. 13 from the Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home in Birmingham with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors included her husband of 68 years - Joe Y. Guin; children - Joallen Guin (Carl) Davis, Daphne, and James A. (Leticia) Guin, Auburn; grandchildren - Jonathan, Allan, and Steven Davis and Elaine Guin Stivender; great-grandchildren - Benjamin, Brayden, and Andrew Davis, and Caleb, Jordan, and Savannah Blow; four nieces; and a nephew.
Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home directed the services.
